Should Nigerians be allowed easier access to guns to defend themselves against insecurity?

Social commentator VeryDarkMan has called for easier access to firearms, arguing that Nigeria’s security forces are too few to adequately protect a population of over 200 million people. But would wider civilian access to guns make Nigerians safer—or create more problems? What do you think?
