Should former government officials advise leaders privately instead of criticising them publicly?

Former Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola says he prefers to advise Bola Tinubu behind closed doors rather than on television. According to him, the President regularly seeks his input, and he believes private conversations are more effective than public criticism. What do you think?
