Police deny claims IGP ordered officers to shoot illegal firearm holders

The Nigeria Police Force has dismissed reports claiming that IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu ordered officers to shoot anyone carrying illegal firearms, describing the reports as fake and misleading. Police spokesperson Anietie Iniedu said the IGP's remarks at a stakeholders' meeting in Makurdi, Benue State, were taken out of context and misrepresented.
