Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, born 19 June 1963 in Osubi (Okpe LGA), is the current Governor of Delta State since May 2023, elected on the PDP platform. Former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, he is a political scientist by education and a grassroots leader turned legislative strategist. His philanthropic work and leadership credentials anchored his successful governorship campaign. Known for consensus-building and inclusive governance, he won with approximately 54% of the vote. Sheriff Oborevwori currently is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He officially defected from the Peoples Democratic (PDP) to the APC in April 2025.
