Samuel Ioraer Ortom is a Nigerian administrator, businessman, and politician born in Guma LGA, Benue State. Educated in public administration and journalism, he entered politics as a local government chairman in the early 1990s, later serving as Federal Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment (with a brief stint supervising Aviation). In 2015, he became Governor of Benue State—initially under APC—before defecting to PDP and winning re-election in 2019, completing two terms in 2023.
