Philip Shaibu is a Nigerian accountant-turned-politician who served as the Deputy Governor of Edo State between 2016 and 2024, with brief interruption and reinstatement in 2024. A native of Edo State with roots in the Etsako area, he is an alumnus of University of Jos (Accounting) and University of Benin (MBA). Throughout his political career, he has held legislative leadership roles and worked to improve governance, revenues, infrastructure, and public services. In 2025 he was appointed Director General of the National Institute for Sports.
