A member of the Peoples Democratic Party, he served as Senator representing Rivers West Senatorial District from 2015 to 2019. Previously, he was a member of the House of Representatives (2003–2007) and Rivers State House of Assembly (1999–2003). Known for his legislative experience across state and national levels, Ideozu played a role in debates on infrastructure and finance in the National Assembly.
