Olusegun Rahman Mimiko is a Nigerian medical doctor, politician, and two-term Governor of Ondo State. Known widely as “Iroko,” Mimiko is the first governor in Nigeria to be elected on the platform of the Labour Party, winning in 2009 after a landmark electoral tribunal case. His administration was notable for reforms in maternal and child healthcare, urban renewal, and education. A grassroots politician, Mimiko remains influential in Ondo State politics and nationally as a strong voice for social democracy.
