Professional Background
Dr. Gana is a seasoned public health and community medicine expert. He served as the founding Head of the Department of Community Medicine at Yobe State University’s College of Medical Sciences and led the Primary Healthcare Management Board to institute the “one functional PHCC per ward” reform. He has held roles as Director of Public Health Services and Executive Secretary of the State PHC Board, and has also worked with global health organizations such as the US Walter Reed Program, FHI-GHAIN, and Pathfinder International.
