Joshua Chibi Dariye is a Nigerian politician and former Governor of Plateau State (1999–2007) under the PDP. He later represented Plateau Central Senatorial District from 2011 to 2019. Dariye’s governorship was marked by both infrastructural projects and a major political crisis that saw him impeached in 2006 and reinstated by the Supreme Court in 2007. His later years in politics were overshadowed by corruption charges, culminating in his conviction in 2018. Despite controversies, Dariye remains one of the most consequential figures in Plateau politics.
