Kayode Fayemi is a Nigerian politician, academic, and former two-term Governor of Ekiti State (2010–2014; 2018–2022). A founding figure of the Centre for Democracy and Development and former Minister of Mines and Steel Development, he is recognized for his technocratic approach to governance and his role in Nigeria’s pro-democracy struggle. He chaired the Nigeria Governors’ Forum between 2019 and 2022 and was elected the inaugural President of the Forum of Regions of Africa in 2022. Fayemi remains one of Nigeria’s most prominent scholar-politicians.
