Isaac Olungwe Kamalu is a seasoned Rivers State politician and public administrator from the Eleme community. He served as Chief Whip in the Rivers State House of Assembly (2007–2011), later as Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning (2015–2019), and was appointed Commissioner for Finance in 2019 under a PDP-led administration. In April 2024, he resigned in protest against a cabinet reshuffle that included a controversial redeployment.
