Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas is a highly decorated retired naval officer and diplomat currently serving as Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Philippines. He rose to national prominence as the Chief of Naval Staff (2015–2021), where he led operations against maritime piracy and crude oil theft. Following a successful tenure as High Commissioner to Ghana, Ibas was briefly appointed as the Sole Administrator of Rivers State in 2025. Known for his disciplined, results-oriented leadership, he is a recipient of the Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR).
