Florence Ita‑Giwa

Florence Ita‑Giwa is a Nigerian politician and former nurse who served as Senator for Cross River South (1999–2003), first elected under the ANPP and later aligned with the PDP. Nicknamed “Mama Bakassi,” she became a leading advocate for the Bakassi Peninsula and played active roles in shaping committees on environment, foreign affairs, women, and narcotics.
