Dr. Tony Okechukwu Nwoye is the Senator representing Anambra North Senatorial District in the 10th Nigerian Senate. He was elected in 2023 under the Labour Party (LP) but recently defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), reflecting a shift in his political alignment within Anambra State. A medical doctor and veteran student activist, Nwoye first rose to national prominence as National President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) before transitioning into mainstream politics. Over the years, he has served as Anambra State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and later as a member of the House of Representatives representing Anambra East/West Federal Constituency. Known for youth mobilization and grassroots engagement, he defeated incumbent Stella Oduah to secure the Anambra North senatorial seat in the 2023 elections.
