David Nweze Umahi is a Nigerian engineer, politician, and current Minister of Works, best known for serving as Governor of Ebonyi State from 2015 to 2023. A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Umahi is recognized for his infrastructural drive, particularly in road construction and flyover projects that reshaped Ebonyi’s landscape. Transitioning from civil engineering into politics, he rose from PDP state chairman to deputy governor, governor, and later APC senator before joining President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s cabinet.
