Bio Summary

David Nweze Umahi is a Nigerian civil engineer, politician, and the current Minister of Works under the President Bola Tinubu administration. An experienced technocrat, Umahi previously served as the Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State (2011–2015) and subsequently as a two-term Governor of the state (2015–2023). Following his gubernatorial tenure, he briefly represented Ebonyi South Senatorial District in the 10th Senate before his ministerial appointment. Renowned for his intensive, infrastructure-heavy governance model, Umahi is recognized for pioneering massive flyover networks, foundational concrete road technology, and major health institutions in the Southeast.
