Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi is a Nigerian politician, two-term Governor of Rivers State (2007–2015), and former Minister of Transportation (2015–2022) under President Muhammadu Buhari. A one-time Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Amaechi played a pivotal role in the formation of the All Progressives Congress in 2013. He is known for spearheading infrastructure projects in Rivers and expanding Nigeria’s transport sector, including railway modernization. As of September 2025, Rotimi Amaechi is a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC). He joined the party in July 2025 after resigning from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
