Bio Summary

Bode Olowoporoku was a Nigerian economist, academic, and politician who represented Ekiti South Senatorial District between 2003 and 2007 under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Trained in economics at the University of Ibadan and the University of Strathclyde, he taught at the University of Ife before entering public service as Commissioner for Economic Planning in old Ondo State (1979–1983). Later elected senator, he contributed to national debates on economic development and represented Ekiti South with a reputation as both a technocrat and grassroots politician. He passed away in 2021.
