Bio Summary
Badamasi Maccido was a Nigerian politician and Senator who represented Sokoto North Senatorial District from 2003 until his death in 2006. A member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), he served during a critical phase of Nigeria’s Fourth Republic. Maccido was the son of Sultan Muhammadu Maccido of Sokoto, which linked him to both traditional and political authority. His career was tragically cut short in the ADC Airlines Flight 53 crash in October 2006, which claimed his life, his father’s, and many other prominent Nigerians.
