Babangida Ishaq Abdullahi

Hon. Babangida Ishaq Abdullahi (Maliya) is the PDP Executive Chairman of Shira Local Government Area, Bauchi State, elected by by-election in May 2025 following the removal of the previous leadership. Since assuming office, he has focused on grassroots service delivery, including educational support for pupils, advocacy for nomadic and rural community welfare, and efforts to improve public safety and cultural alignment in local governance. He has also faced contentious issues, such as proposing restrictions on farm labour for women and girls, which he frames in terms of safety and social values.
