Babajide Sanwo-Olu is the Governor of Lagos State and a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). With a background in banking and public administration, he has held various positions in the Lagos State Government before becoming governor in 2019. Known for his focus on infrastructure, technology, and public service reform, he launched the THEMES agenda to drive development in Africa’s most populous city. He was re-elected in 2023 for a second term.

Professional Background
Babajide Sanwo-Olu began his career in the banking sector. He held senior positions in several commercial banks, including as Deputy General Manager at First Inland Bank (now part of FCMB), and later served as Managing Director/CEO of Lagos State Development and Property Corporation (LSDPC). He has also served as Special Adviser and Commissioner in various Lagos State Ministries before contesting for governor.
