Abdullahi Maikafi

Abdullahi Maikafi is a Nigerian politician who represented Bauchi North Senatorial District in the Nigerian Senate from 2003 to 2007 under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Coming from Katagum in Bauchi, he was part of Nigeria’s pioneer Fourth Republic lawmakers tasked with consolidating democratic governance after military rule. During his tenure, Maikafi advocated for rural infrastructure, education, and agricultural support for northern communities. He is remembered as a grassroots politician with strong community ties in Bauchi North and as one of the state’s early representatives in the Fourth Republic Senate. He succeeded Salisu Matori and contributed to Nigeria's nascent Fourth Republic legislative framework.
