Abdulkadir Kure was a two-term Governor of Niger State (1999–2007) under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). A trained mechanical engineer and former NNPC executive, he transitioned into politics during Nigeria’s return to civilian rule and was known for large-scale infrastructure projects and agricultural support programs in Niger State. He passed away in 2017.
