Kogi fixes October 17, 2026 for LG poll

The Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission has scheduled local government elections for October 17, 2026. Chairman Nderi Mamman announced in Lokoja that the polls will cover 21 local governments and 239 wards, in compliance with the Electoral Act’s requirement to issue notice at least 360 days before the election.
